She finds this very difficult to believe. The Toff has been asked to find James Mellor as he is the heir to Sir Frederick Arden's estate as Arden's only son is dead. Also thrown into the mix is Clarissa Arden, Sir Arden's niece, who is conviced that James Mellor is evil incarnate. Who is right and who is wrong? An amusing read and I had pretty much figured out the twist, which is possibly the fault of having read it or many others like it over the years. Amusing though and I enjoyed the characters.
