If it hadn't been written in such a cutesy style it could have been a very good book, having all the makings. Wren was a foreign correspondent for the New York Times and was assigned to interesting places all over the world, and his amazing resilient brave cat went to all these places with the family. But it was just a little too light for my taste. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Henrietta was an ordinary New York City cat until she ventured overseas with foreign correspondent Christopher S. Wren and his wife and children. Over seventeen years and tens of thousands of miles, she became a plucky, indispensable companion for the reporter as he covered world events in Moscow, Cairo, Beijing, Ottawa, and Johannesburg.Wren's often hilarious and sometimes poignant account of an American family's adventures crisscrossing the globe shows them coping with chaos in faraway places -- always with the help of their ever-resourceful feline. The result is a charming tale about a spunky, curious pet who earned the right to be ranked among the world's most widely traveled cats. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

It all started in New York at Newsweek Magazine. One of a litter of kittens in need of a home; a free bottle of scotch came with each kitten. She wound up in a family of two adults and two children. By the time she was full grown, the husband was working for the New York Times. His first assignment was Moscow and there the adventurous life began.
The book is a fun and light read. It is interesting to read about the intricacies of taking the family pet on international travel and how they are viewed in other countries. Henrietta was noticed where ever she went. There are humorous moments and moments of concern…like the time she went missing! Through it all Henrietta manages to keep her poise.
Even if you’re not a cat person, you may enjoy the read. ( )
