It’s edgy and dark, with humor, action and well written characters. Caden is not your average teen. Trained from a young age to be a Exorcist by his Father, this young man has been to hell and back, literally, before he’s even twenty. When an exorcism goes bad his Father is badly disfigured, and he’s placed in a comma. Unlike most comma patients he remembers every moment of his time under because he was running for his life in hell. With the help of a Demon named Dan, and a bargain that comes back to haunt him Caden is able to escape, bringing his friend Dan with him. Together they come up with the perfect scheme to make money once he wakes up. Dan possesses the rich and famous and Caden “Exorcises” them for a hefty fee. Things are going along well, until Caden’s enemies from hell come to collect their debts. Thank goodness for day light savings time because I stayed up well past my bedtime to read this in one sitting. I recommend this to woman and men of all ages who like witty writing with a dark supernatural twist, and rock and roll flare. (  ) RtB | Jan 7, 2012 | Ms. Stokes presents the reader with an amazing and fast paced beginning that keeps the readers eyes attached the book and never wavering. I like how immediately I was able to fall into the characters shoes and feel his every emotions. I love it when authors can help the reader feel and be the characters. The main character, Caden has been through a lot. He is way more mature than most kids. After returning from being a year in hell, he is not the same. The premise alone is not what most books I read so it kept me very intrigued. The plot of the book has good pacing. Never once did I waver from it or feel confused. I like that the reader sees Caden in so many ways. We see him vulnerable yet strong. Happy yet sad. Ms. Stokes gave me story with a great plot that I loved right away. This is a completely different out of the box read for me but I still loved it. I was a little reluctant, but came to enjoy the book. Demon Whisperer is a dark fast paced read that will make your hair rise. Ive had this on my kindle for a while and not knowing anything about it I decided to read it. It hooked me from the start. Caden is a flawed character, he does questionable things. I loved Cadens and Dans friendship. It was an action packed story and Im looking forward to more. (
