He notices that every object has a shadow when light is blocked from reaching the surface, and how the direction of the light affects the direction of the shadow.. He and his friends discuss the use shadows in art, shadows in the different phases of the moon, eclipses, and how shadows are used in x-ray machines. The friends perform a couple shadow activities with flashlights that could easily be replicated in a classroom setting. I see how this would be a very informative science book for younger students. This book would be a good supplement for a science lesson on light, or one could lead an art lesson with this book and create shadow puppets. ( ) Whenever light shines upon an object, that object has a shadow. If the light changes an angle, the shadow also changes. This book explains how a gigantic shadow is what gives us day and night and the children in the book experiment on how this works by shining a flashlight on a ball in a dark room! This would be an excellent example when teaching the Earth's rotation. The book covers all kinds of shadows from a light source, drawing shadows, playing shadow games, puppet show shadows, eclipses, x-rays, and sonograms. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
