What kind of person would want to own a wild, or half wild, animal? Ceiridwen Terrill answers this question and many others in her memoir recounting her personal experience raising and owning a wolf/dog hybrid. Her story is a train wreck. You can see what is coming but you just can't tear your eyes away. While I found it difficult to understand many of Terrill's choices and to empathize with her as a person, it was clear to me that she had grown and had seen the error of her ways by the end of the book. I am certain that she will not only not repeat her error, but that she will continue to atone for her mistake for the rest of her life. This book is part of that atonement. If you know of anyone considering raising a wild animal--please, give them this book. ( )

Part Wild
Caught Between the Worlds of Wolves and Dogs
by Ceiridwen Terrill

This 280 page blessed and amazing read broke my heart and filled my spirit all at the same time. The author with her captivating energy and charismatic style just pulled me in from jump and I just found myself spellbound sprinting from one amazing wolf dog adventure to another. The thing that I found so perplexing was that I could tell how truly well written and alive this book was because I am a cat lover and was still drawn in very deeply and kept rooting for Inyo all the way through. I would recommend this special story of love and devotion to animal lovers everywhere. Thanks Ceiridwen for sharing this deeply personal and spiritual journey with the rest of us.

Love & Light,

This is a book about good intentions gone wrong. It is the story of the author who decides for many reasons including security from a troublesome ex boyfriend that she should adopt a wolf/dog puppy which she will later find out the hard way is not a good thing. Though she loves Inyo intensely and tries everything in her power to domesticate it - she can't. So this is a story for anyone who thought about having a wild animal for a pet. Don't! The author is intensely honest and even shares 2 unsuccessful relationships with men in her life. She is so honest I feel that I know and would like her if I met her (without wolf/dog) In many ways the book is a tribute and love story to a pet - but one in which a lesson can be learned. It is well worth reading even though you will be happy you were not her neighbor during the wolf/dog years. ( )

Fascinating and well-written book about the differences between dogs and wolves, and what it is like to own an animal that is neither one, nor the other. ( )
