Ecclesiastes is an interesting book but can be a challenge to understand. If read in a certain way, it appears negative and dark and discouraging. But that is life apart from God. That is striving for happiness and a feeling of worth in riches or pleasure or health or anything outside of God. As Solomon, who tried it all, points out, God wants us to fear, love and trust him above all things, and relax and enjoy the good gifts he has given. Great gospel throughout this fine commentary. ( )
