This book presents information about water including its cycle, its chemical composition, and sustainability. It provides background facts and then offers suggestions for experiments the reader can do to show these facts in action. However, many of these require actual scientific equipment like microscope slides and pH paper, not readily available in most households. In addition, many of these experiments are rather dull; one calls for literally watching water boil and gauging at what temperature that happens. However, some of the experiments are a little more involved and are actually practical, such as determining if there any water leaks in your home. Suggestions are given for topics to explore further as a science fair project. I could see this book being useful in that regard, especially for high schoolers or advanced middle schoolers who have a scientific leaning already. For the general reader, I would find something else on the topic that is a little more exciting and a little less full of mathematical formulas and chemical equations.
