My thoughts:
The information I found stated that this was book 4, when I actually thought it was the start to a new series. The previous books are about 3 cousins finding love while this one is set at the same time, but all new characters. But they are connected and this via the man who fathered Brent's brothers and that man was also in the previous books as a side character. But you do not need to have read those previous ones at all since this for me feels like a new start.
But enough with that now. In this book Viscount Brentwood is walking his mother's dog Prissy when a woman comes up to him and kisses him. And you all know what that means, scandal! And a broken engagement for her, but she did not count on him doing the honourable thing. So she finds herself engaged again and she will try anything to get out of it.
I do like Amelia Grey's books because there is just something fun over them. And here that is all the things Gabrielle does when she tries to get out of this new engagement. There will be a few scandals before she is done. Her old fiancé, oh do not feel sorry for him, I personally thought he was an ass. Gabrielle also had more than one reason to break up with him. She is a very brave woman to cause scandal like that so yes of of course I liked her. As for her new man, Brent, he never knew what was coming but he did fall for her. Even if he fell in lust first. He kept up with her crazy schemes and who would not love a man who searches day and night for his lost dog.

And the side characters are great as always. Gabrielle has an aunt who says what she wants to say and again we meet Lord Snellingly. This poor lord from previous books who writes the worst poetry in the world.

Conclusion:
I enjoyed this book and did not want to put it down before I knew what would happen. Silly I know, since obviously they would get a HEA. But it was just so witty and charming.

Rating:
Amusing and utterly adorable.

Summary from Goodreads:

"A stolen kiss from a stranger...

As if from a dream, Lady Gabrielle walked from the mist and into Viscount Brentwood's arms. Within moments, he's embroiled in more scandal than he ever thought possible...

Can sink even a perfect gentleman...

Beautiful, clever, and courageous, Lady Gabrielle needs Brent's help to get out of a seriously bad situation. But the more she gets to know him, the worse she feels about ruining his life..."

My Thoughts:

This is what a romance should be! The two main characters absolutely made this book and were everything that they should be. Lady Gabrielle is spunky and doesn't bend to the will of the men in her life at every turn. Viscount Brentwood was the perfect gentleman with a hint of danger that lurked at the edges of his personality. The two of them together created such a great romance filled with romantic tension and desire. I loved reading about these two and couldn't wait to see their happy ending. The book itself was a fun read that didn't take itself too seriously. There were a few moments that had me laughing especially at (if you've read the book you'll understand) the golden orbs part. I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the one even if it did win me a few weird looks in the break room. The ending of the book held my only complaint as it was a bit too easily wrapped up but I'll admit to not caring that much. All in all, this was a great read and this book was enjoyable enough that I would highly recommend it to fans of romance!

Bottom Line: A fun romance with characters that I couldn't get enough of!

Disclosure: I was lucky enough to be sent this book for review from the publisher. ( )

Lady Gabrielle is the daughter of a powerful Duke. Viscount Brentwood is recently returned from America with his twin brothers. He is walking his deceased mother's small dog in the park early one morning when a beautiful woman comes out of the mist. He can't believe it when she just ups and kisses him.

He further can't believe it when he is tackled by her father's and her future father in law's men. He literally doesn't know what just hit him. But being a Gentleman he knows his future has just been altar-ed. So to speak.

He does not know why Gabrielle kissed him but he does know that he needs a wife and one of her station and looks will be just fine. Gabrielle though does not want him to feel forced into marriage. SHE does not want to be forced into marriage.

What will happen? Will these too find their way to one another?

This is a light tale of love discovered; love strong enough to survive the old adage "if you love her let her go..." Gabrielle and Brent come to each other slowly and the tale of their getting to know each other is typical but well written. The characters are stock but have endearing quirks; Gabrielle has a rather large dog and Brent has his mother's tiny one. They care strongly for family members and that drives their actions which therefore drives the plot.

It was easy to read and in true romantic fashion had a happy ending. I was able to read it in one day and it would make a good beach read. ( )

A GENTLEMAN NEVER TELLS by Amelia Grey is an exciting historical romance set in Regency England. It is written with depth and details. The characters are charming, enchanting, engaging and will capture your heart. How much trouble could one little kiss cause,Viscount Brentwood is soon to fine out when the delightful, enchanting Lady Gabrielle does just not,one early morning in the park. This is a beautifully written story of love, passion, romance, sweet sensuality, witty dialogue, scandal,a touch of mystery,a touch of suspense and family drama. It will keep you turning pages from the first sentence to the last sentence. While Viscount Brentwood and Lady Gabrielle learn to trust each other, find their happiness, fight their attraction to each other, deal with a little family drama and did I mention dogs. One kidnapped, while the other is growing older. You can only delight in this plot and cast of characters. This is a must read and a keeper. With humor, and passion you can't go wrong with A Gentleman Never Tells. This book was received for the purpose of review from the publisher.Details can be found at Sourcebooks Casablanca,an imprint of Sourcebooks,Inc. and My Book Addiction Reviews. ( )
