I killed a girl last night. I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that's not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can't seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted - and then she was a wolf. All snapping teeth and extended claws. But by the time I stood over her lifeless body, she was a girl again. That's about the time I went into shock... And that was the moment he showed up.And even now there are two thoughts that are so clear, they feel branded into my mind: One, Werewolves do exist, and two, I was born to kill them.… (más)

I ended up skimming to the end

This book just didn't do it for me. Nothing wrong with the actual writing, but the plot was just too predictable. No fire in the romance either. And it drives me crazy when the reader doesn't learn about the details because the characters are too stubborn to talk to each other. And too many powers and things were coincidence. Felt like a cheap twilight remake with wolves. ( )

Really interesting take on the shapeshifter paranormal world. Shapeshifters, whether they are werewolves or leopards, have become one of my favorite supernatural beings to read about; should I dare say over vampires? I prefer the shapeshifter stories where they are mostly separated from the human world and don't have much to do with them and not harm them. Don't really go for the ones where they are so dangerous that they have to be hunted by hunters created to do just that, even though, I have read shapeshifter books with hunters that I did like. Dirty Blood had a different take on the whole hunter shifter world that I liked a lot. Both hunter and shifters have a hate for each other that goes way back and a few from each side grew tired of the constant fighting decided to do something about it. It was interesting to see both worlds come together for a common goal.

This action packed story was filled with a lot of secrets and mysteries. Good characters and wonderful story building.

Review Dirty Blood Dirty Blood brings a new look to werewolves.  I like the whole premise of how they came about and the dynamics between Weres and the Hunters.  It’s a nice change from the usual vampire/hunter scenario.
Tara is very headstrong and independent.  She tries to take on this new world that has opened up to her with fierce determination.  She isn’t a fan of being pushed around, or having things kept from her.  She pushes until she gets the information she needs.  Wes is kind of a pain sometimes.  I know he just wants to protect the best way he knows how.  But he has to realize that Tara is perfectly capable of taking care of herself…. most of the time.
There is a ton of action, and tension.  I like seeing the fight scenes because they are fast and you wonder what’s going to happen next.  There were a few things that totally threw me off after I had a feel on how the story was going to go.  I like when that happens.  It keeps me on my toes.  Most of the tension is between Tara and Wes.  They don’t know what to do about their feelings for each other.  On top of everything that Tara is discovering she also has to deal with normal stuff like dealing with her school enemy and a guy that doesn’t know when to give up.
Overall I enjoyed the story, and will definitely be reading on to see where this all ends. ( )

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed the story with all of the twists and plots. It was an interesting read with great characters. The mixed blood thing and the reactions from her mother and family. And the awesome Grandma (I can relate!!). Great fun! Cant wait for the next book! ( )
