John Colleton, the pseudonym of Robert Walter Marks, wrote about a dozen highly atmospheric novels set mostly in Charleston, South Carolina, where he died in 1993. Perhaps their ethereal tone and laid back love-making are an acquired taste, but they are delightfully redolent of warm lazy days of sexual intrigue. ‘Replenishing Jennifer’ relates the intrigues that Bill, the narrator, makes with Cloris, an erotic film director, and a waitress, Jennifer, they recruit into their touring entourage while in London. Bill’s romps with the various women involved in the film production are gently described, always with thoughtful delicacy, and sometimes with some elements of chastisement. The book has the air of being a fragment of lives described elsewhere, which it is, but it does stand alone, with a powerfully erotic air. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
