Since the story is mostly a doctor's journal entries, you don't get to know any characters. Most of the writing is medical in nature and there is very little action. It is mostly just description of medical autopsies. Even the pencil illustrations of the zombies were not enough to interest me. Pass this book up and pick almost any other zombie book that has come out in the last couple years and it will be a billion times more interesting. A quick read, but also a boring read. Based on the research of renowned zombie expert Dr. Stanley Blum, performed at a remote island where a crack medical team has been sent to explore a radical theory that may lead to a cure for the zombie epidemic, this notebook documents for the first time the unique biology of zombie organisms. The book was not overlong, it was fun to read, and interesting. That's a pretty good formula if you ask me. ( )
