This book would help a teacher incorporate math and reading. ( ) This book is very helpful in explaining the concept of addition to very young children. I wish the book was a little larger, but overall I think it was a good book. The rhymes were cute, and the book was not too long to keep the student's attention. I would use it as an introduction to a lesson about addition in my class. Gisler, David, and Sarah A. Beise. Addition Annie. New York: Children's Press, 2002. Print. The book is clearly geared towards young kids who are in the process of acquiring basic math skills. In my opinion the book would be appropriate for 3 to 5 year old. The book tells a story about a little young girl who likes to add things up. The clear, colorful, and bright illustrations make the book interesting and appealing for young kids. Furthermore, with every addition in the book, the illustration provides a visual of the mathematical addition being discussed, which further enhances the readers understanding of the mathematical function. The author also made sure that the words of the story rhyme, which in my opinion is an added feature that catches the young reader’s attention and interest. In all, I believe the book is well written and illustrated, and I would recommend it for kids 3 to 5 as a good way to practice reading and learn basic mathematical addition skills. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
