This was an awesome story for lack of a better word. It teaches children appreciation. Harvey Hare's friends make him a gift to show how much they love him and what he does all year long. ( )

I don't know, all told, that the story in Harvey Hare, Postman Extraordinaire really stands out to me, although I did appreciate its themes of steady attendance and hard work on the job, as well as showing gratitude when someone does something well. The artwork is endearing, and of course, there is a hedgehog here - something almost guaranteed to win my approval. Recommended primarily to those who enjoy cute animal stories, or who are fond of Watts' artwork. ( )
