Fairly ordinary for the series. Not as funny as some. Not as romantic as others. Light reading for when you're willing to accept a whole lot of willing suspension of disbelief. Not because it's about shifters but because it's so over the top. Like watching an action flick, dead bodies everywhere and no one particularly cares. The heroine and others slit throats right and left with no repercussions at all. No real mention of what human authorities think of animal ravaged bodies all over the place. That is if the hyena shifters don't eat them. And action scenes where so many people were described as being killed that you wondered how even in New York City the bad guy was able to gather so many henchmen to carry out the evil doings. And every other person in NY is apparently some sort of shifter and how is it possible with so so many shifters that they're not "out" to the general human public? Still amusing if you're willing to accept all that. ( )

I really loved this book. I liked the way that he won her over through cooking and food. I also liked how Shelly made them realize that they had more in common than they first thought. But mainly, I loved that the hero had been crazy about her since he was a child and had to spend the rest of the book trying to convince the heroine that he was serious. Loved it!!! ( )

Laugh out loud fun. Ric knows what he wants and how to get her. Hearing tone, cracks me up every time.
