I'm quite committed to getting the whole series of this collection. Best parts are Breathed's comments and strips I never saw (because I missed them in the paper or they were edited from the earlier collections). I realize that not only did Bloom County provide a subtle but definite influence on me but that I remember a lot more of the 80s than I ever suspected. ( )

This third collection of Bloom County comic strips is largely empty of Berkeley Breathed's amusing anecdotes and the editor's informative asides. There are some, to be sure, but less effort seems to have been put into that aspect of the collection. For instance, at the end of the book, there are three Sunday strips in a row (2/9/86, 2/16/86, and 2/23/86) with no dailies in between. A note as to why this was this case would have been nice. Was Breathed on vacation back then or is this an error? Other than that small complaint, this volume is another must-have if you, like me, would like the entirety of the Bloom County comic strip collected in a nice hardcover format. ( )
