Again, I was confused by parts of the ending and wished that Jonas had talked more about how Marcus and Charity suffered financially. ( ) A day's read this story had originally caught my attention because it was mainly based in Scotland. A tale of family deception it gripped me from the first pages and the story unfurled itself in front of my very eyes. The characters are believable for the most part and it addresses difficult family issues surrounding dementia and physically debility in older age. Lies and deception abound and it is really about two thirds of the way through tat the glimmer of light starts to appear at the end of the dark tunnel, although the full truth is only revealed in the last 10 pages. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Claire Barclay has returned to the home in Scotland where she spent her teenage years. After the sudden death of her mother, Claire is concerned about the welfare of her much-loved and now frail stepfather, Leo. But his own grown children seem more concerned about preserving their financial assets than their father's health. Claire is desperately trying to avoid Jonas, the love of her life who broke her heart at just eighteen, but he's asking her to trust him again, on a matter of all urgency. Can she forget the past and put her faith in someone who once hurt her so deeply? No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
