This inspiring, powerful book encourages youngsters to think about peace -- what it is, and how they can help it grow. It begins by discussing human needs, and that conflicts arise when there are not enough resources and goods to fulfill everyone's needs. Rather than arguing, this book offers ways to solve conflicts through negotiation, making deals and choices. Peace takes creativity: new ways of thinking, dealing and planning. Peace-making is hard work, but compared to the pain of conflict, the hard work of peace is worth it. Peace is not a gap where nothing is happening. It is something that lives, grows, spreads, and needs looking after. The last few pages give children specific ideas how they can be peacemakers at home and in the greater world. This is a great book to begin or continue the classroom conversation around conflict resolution through child-centered empowerment. While it obvious that children could benefit from this book (as a companion to curriculum about feelings, empathy and conflict), it is also clear adults could also benefit from this book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
