Sleepy Boy is a contemporary realistic book tells a bedtime story about a baby and his father, who help his baby to fall asleep. It is a wonderful quiet and sleepy book, which can help baby easy to fall asleep.
Media: Oil-painted illustrators with dark color, which is good for night before baby sleep.
Use: I will read this book to little baby with gentle and soothing tone to let put baby sleep. ( )

Summary: This book is about a bed-time story between the father and the son. Although it is time for boy to go to to sleep, the boy is still thinking about lions.
Use: It is a good book for bed-time! It is not suitable to read this book in class, because kids may easily get boring and sleepy from this book. However, from my perspective, this book is still a little boring. I really like the illustration of this book. The pictures are peaceful, which made the demand of bed-time story pictures. ( )

In this realistic fiction book, we see a little boy having a hard time going to sleep after a long day. His mom tries to hep him, but then eventually dad comes in to save the day. His dad hold him, and tries to help him go to sleep, even though the boy is fighting it. Then, the boy remembers what he saw at the zoo; how the momma lion was taking care of the baby cub, and how he felt like this was the same situation (him and his dad). Then the boy finally fell asleep. ( )

I love this book for the illustrations. The story of a child who can't sleep due to the excitement of the day never leaving him is all too familiar. I've been through that before. Beautiful illustrations. ( )

Genre: Realistic Fiction
Review: We do not know if this story is true, but we know that this situation of a young boy having a hard time falling asleep is prevalent for a lot of young kids. The boy connects with an animal at a zoo, which a lot of readers would relate to as well. These aspects make it realistic, even if it's not a true story.
