The story has a circular structure and uses repetition, which are qualities fit for its young audience. However, the made-up words used for rhyming are hard to say and don't add a lot to the story (one word, for example is "swhy"). Perhaps real words could have been used just as effectively and with more meaning for readers on how to rhyme. However, the illustrations add a whole other level of storyline if readers look closely at the action depicted in the "background" black/white images.

This book could be used with young children as a read-aloud, circle time. Children could mark the rhythm by clapping to the beat in some places and could point out what they notice happening (how each character helps another) in the illustrations.
