This is a really fun book about how a class can work together to save money for a field trip. Throughout the book there is a sense of teamwork and collaboration among the class and teacher, no matter what positive or difficult circumstances come into play (and, there are some). There is math involved, as their savings are increasing or decreasing, due to a variety of circumstances that take place throughout the book.

I would use this book to highlight the importance of teamwork, perseverance, creating ideas to save money, saving money, difficulties that come up and how to overcome them. A wonderful book to use if my class was really wanted something for the classroom or wanted to take a special field trip and the school budget would not allow this happen without outside funding.

The students in Miss Fox's class want to go on a feild trip so they have to earn the money. This takes hard work a persevrvernce through some set back they have. This is a great book to use for math. ( )

This would be a good book to use in an early economics unit. The endless steps in raising enough money to go to Roller Coaster Planet despite numerous setbacks would make for great mathematical discussion. Fun story to go with it. ( )
