Newbery Medalist Patricia MacLachlan explores what happens when a wizard would rather be human. “Notable for its elliptical style, which fosters a feeling of wonder, and its warm, affectionate view of life.”--The Horn Book When I first read this book, I did not care for it much. However, this was because I had read an extremely misleading summary for it, and I went into the book with the wrong expectations. A few years ago, I picked it up again and decided to just read it without any preconceived expectations. And it turned out this was a delightful children's fantasy book. Murdoch is an apprentice to the wizard Tomorrow, and he accompanies his mentor in a series of magics bestowed on people. Many of them have a very "be careful what you wish for" tone to them, but the situations and the results are original nonetheless. Tomorrow eventually realizes that his apprentice has a very fond wish and grants it to him. I'm glad I gave the book another chance and, like some of those in the book, learned sometimes you must look beyond what you are given. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
