The story begins with two women being stalked and forced off the road where one of them dies and in her dying breath asks that she give her heirloom ring to her niece. A stranger turns up in the town where the niece works and lots of suspicious goings on and a blooming romance for the heroine before she ignores all the usual advice to keep her safe and goes out alone. Kept me interested and had a nice NH setting. ( ) The books opens with a couple of women driving down a road. They are run off the road. One dies instantly. The other survives the crash but is found in a block of ice in Rye Harbor later. The investigation goes from New Hampshire to New Mexico and back and even to Switzerland. I wish I could say that I loved the book, but thrillers are really just not my favorite type of mystery. This one is fairly tame for a thriller plot. The action keeps moving, but the dilemmas do not have the sense of urgency that is present in many books of this genre. I picked this up for free or for 99 cents for my Kindle. It provided that amount of entertainment, but I don't think I would be willing to pay for future installments of the series. K.D. Mason has woven together wonderfully a realistic murder mystery and a touching love story. The events are exciting and the characters understandable as they race through the action and the drama. With the sad passing of Robert B. Parker the torch may have been passed to this new voice from the backstreets of New England. I eagerly await Mr. Mason’s next tale of suspense and mystery! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

It has been a brutally cold winter in the New Hampshire coastal town of Rye Harbor, leaving drifts of sea water frozen solid in the salt marsh. Finally, the weather warms enough for the ice to begin to break up and drift out to sea. That's when a woman's body is found under a slab of ice left by the outgoing tide. Max, the feisty redheaded bartender at Ben's Place, recognizes that the body in the ice is her aunt's partner. This triggers a series of events that will eventually threaten Max's life as well. It is up to her best friend, Jack Beale, to unravel the mystery. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
