In this book we see innocence, imagination and wonder. I've noticed that Henkes likes nature and flowers and uses those things frequently in his books. With his illustrations in this book, we see his use of pastels, line, and texture. I enjoyed this book because it puts you back into the mind of a child where anything is possible (like growing seashells in a garden). sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

This book is most appropriate for preschoolers. In this book we are introduced to a young girl who constantly helps her mother with her garden. However, the girl starts to imagine what she would want in her own garden. Her imagination runs wild and she comes up with ideas such as she would grow old keys, seashells, and jelly bean bushes. In the end her imagination truly takes root when she plants a seashell and it starts to take root just like she imagined.
