Um, does anyone else see how this story is strikingly similar to the scene in Sleeping Beauty where the fairies are getting ready for Rose's birthday? They each take on a task that they're not good at and screw it up pretty bad, which is exactly what happens in this book.

Anywhooty, I kind of like how intricate and gravity-defying the illustrations of the princesses are, but I think it's weird that the title is "Princesses Are Not Perfect," when the refrain in the text is, "Princess are not good at everything."

42 months - this was a cute book and then when we watched the Disney Sleeping Beauty I recognized the a similar story line when the fairies decide to switch up who makes the cake, the dress etc. an everything goes wrong until at last they switch jobs again. ( )

This book is a wonderful fairytale, all about three princesses who each have one specialty, baking, woodshop, or gardening, and one day they decide that since "princesses are good at everything" they should just switch jobs for the fun of it, which turns out to be a big mistake. They learn that princesses are NOT perfect, but good at doing what they love. This would be a great book for little girls during their "princess stage" in early elementary school. ( )

This is a great book for younger girls. It teaches a great lesson that while you are good at certain things others may not be and that is okay. It would be good for the girls to read and understand that everyone is good at different activities and have them write about what they are good at and what they could improve. I think this would be a great concept for self confidence as they are getting into upper elementary and concerned about there self images and what people think of them.
