The boys are back again, and despite becoming official work partners, each wonders how their romantic feelings fit in their new dynamic, if at all.

As Ty and Zane soon find out, their forced vacation is anything but a nice escape. They're faced with extreme life and death situations, all of which solidify their trust in each other and strengthen their new partnership. It also forces them to reflect on feels they don't want to have or are too afraid to look at closely.

What's not in question is their insatiable lust for each other, and their chemistry is combustible. Actions do speak louder than words, and it's an exciting ride as we watch these two fall more for each other despite their own hang ups and reservations. Though they don't know it yet, neither stands a chance at the inevitable,and we wouldn't have it any other way.

In questo secondo volume della serie Cut and run, Ty e Zane si trovano ancora alle prese con i postumi degli eventi che, in Armi e bagagli, li hanno portati a un passo dal baratro. Cosa c'è di meglio, allora, di una bella vacanza? Aria fresca e vita all'aperto: Ty decide di tornare dai suoi in West Virginia e si trascinerà dietro Zane.

Conosciamo così i familiari di Ty: il padre Earl, rigido e autoritario ex-marine; la madre Mara, amorevole pilastro della famiglia; il fratello minore Deuce, psichiatra, l'unico dei maschi Grady a non essere entrato nei Marines; il nonno Chester e il suo fedele badile, che ancora usa per difendersi e minacciare come se fosse ancora nel Pacifico durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.

Nel complesso, Ty ha una gran bella famiglia (anche se, a un certo punto, avrei voluto strapazzare ben bene Earl: ma come ti sei permesso di dire una carognata del genere a tuo figlio?), a differenza di Zane, che, stuzzicato dal suo partner, rilascia in merito dichiarazioni sibilline. Questo ragazzo è più chiuso di Fort Knox, maledizione!

E proprio questa chiusura di Zane sta portando i due a considerare il loro rapporto in maniera diversa. Ty, infatti, non avendo mai avuto relazioni, è pronto a riconoscere e ammettere i suoi sentimenti per Zane (almeno a se stesso), mentre questi rifiuta anche solo di pensarci. Visti i loro caratteri e il loro vissuto (per quel che ne sappiamo ancora), lo trovo uno sviluppo molto coerente, oltre che intrigante: dopo centinaia di coppie dall'amore istantaneo, fa oltremodo piacere leggere di due che devono combattere solo per ammettere a se stessi ciò che provano l'uno per l'altro.

Questa reticenza nei confronti dei propri sentimenti, però, non impedisce loro di vivere dei momenti di struggente tenerezza: ci sono momenti in cui Ty e Zane riescono a sciogliere anche il cuore più insensibile. I loro corpi, infatti, sanno benissimo cosa vogliono, sebbene le parole continuino a girare intorno al nocciolo della questione, sempre troppo impaurite di allontanare e perdere.

Cut and Run è una serie che si fa sempre più interessante. Nonostante l'inizio in sordina, Ty e Zane sono entrati di prepotenza nella mia classifica di migliori m/m romance, e sono solo al secondo volume. Non vedo l'ora di vederli di nuovo all'opera. ( )

I swear my men have become even better idiots than before. They're fantastic on their job so that's not it. More along the lines that they cannot so obviously see that try are in love with each other. It didn't pop up all the time so it wasn't entirely frustrating to watch. The overall highlights and big events in this story were great ad I'm really gearing up or FISH &STICKS ( )

Well, this time I obliged myself to advance more than in my first attempt and it came out all right_ I liked a lot more, although there were parts that I skimmed in order to avoid boredom.

I love reading interaction between family members. It was sometimes cute sometimes funny and sometimes tense. Family like this makes me envious.

Ty and Zane, as always had a lot of hot, sexy and sweet moments ( )
