Pinocchio was visited by the blue fairy who turned him into a real boy. In this book, he sets off to Collodi City for chicken soup to help Geppetto's illness.

The illustrations by Lane Smith, as always are original. Creatively lovely! ( )

Such bold design again from the author of *It's a Book* and more wonderful fun that can be shared with joy by all ages. ( )

Summary: This version of Pinocchio stars off where the original ends. The beginning has a short summary to catch you up to speed. Pinocchio is turned into a real boy while he sleeps by the blue fairy. He doesn't realize it until no one will except him and he meets the daughter of the blue fairy who tell him he is now a real boy.

Personal Reaction: I fell that this misses the moral of the story that is expressed in the original Pinocchio. It is however, nice closure for children who are upset about the original Pinocchio ending.

Extension Ideas: Make puppets. Perform puppet plays. ( )
