The book should have been proofread. There are enough wrong numbers that someone coming to the book without knowledge of these things would be really frustrated.
Sentences are ill constructed and often assert doubtful notions; Copernicus was not revolutionary -- he didn't publish until he was dying he was so conventional. His idea was revolutionary. They get worse.
Explanation after explanation is sufficiently incomplete so as not to be an explanation at all.
And the big thing. Practical all of the book is junior high school science and high school physics. Somebody after the promise of superstrings and M theory will be sorely disappointed in this book.
This book should not have been published. Scientific American should not have endorsed it by offering it for sale in their book club. ( )
