The first 45% is puuuuuuuurfect but then it gets rather tedious. ( )

Author site suggests this as Book 1 as it takes place in 1794 Paris, so that is the way I am listing and rereading them, not in their published order. ( )

I liked this couple and their supporting cast. A good bunch of characters. The plot was probably better than average, and it entertained me, but I didn't find it quite as engaging as I would have liked. I wasn't trying to think up solutions to their problems, or imagining what would come next. But overall it felt pretty original, and like I said, I was entertained by it. The strongest point was the couple though. ( )

I loooove this series on audio. The narrator does a great job with accent switching.

Anyway, Bourne has a talent for setting and atmosphere, so even if I didn't believe the romance in full, I was riveted. ( )

I go back and forth, but can say for sure this isn't what I want to read.... So putting it on hold again, and I might never return to it. Maybe audio? Idk.
