"Love finds you ... Against the backdrop of the breathtaking Bridal Veil Falls in a historic Oregon logging community, a schoolteacher finds herself torn between a past love and the man who could be her future. Sixteen-year-old Margaret Garvey had promised her heart to Nathaniel Cooper the night he disappeared from town. Four years later, just as she's giving love a second chance with Andrew, a handsome logger, Nathaniel suddenly returns to town with a devastating secret. While grappling with the betrayal of those she trusted most, Margaret risks her reputation and position by harboring two troubled runaways who might be involved in the murder of a local man. And as disaster strikes the town and threatens the welfare of its citizens, Margaret will be faced with the most important decision of her life."--p. [4] of cover.… (más)

What I think you should know:
Finding Love in Bridal Veil Oregon is a Historical Christian Romance by Miralee Ferrell. It is set in a small Oregon mill town in 1902.

What you might need to know:
Margaret has just lost her father.
Samantha and Joel are orphans.
Joel has the mental capacity of a young child.

What I think about this book:
With lost love, murder, runaways and misunderstandings Ferrell has written an intriguing story. This story definitely had characters that I like and characters that I really disliked. Margaret was an interesting character, I loved her interactions with Sam and Joel, they really made the story more enjoyable. Andrew was such a sweet guy and I hated to see how Nathaniel coming back to town changed his life. I appreciated the details that the author included about the workings of a mill town and how it helped bring the story to life for me. This was my first time reading a book by this author, but it will definitely not be the last time!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )

I enjoyed this story for many reasons. One, I liked how the author took historical places and events in this lumber town set in the early 1900s and used them to make this story more interesting. I liked how she used the determination and love of a young girl to protect her older brother with learning problems and the love and closeness of these two characters. I also enjoy a story that surprises me and doesn't take me in the direction I am assuming it will go. It was a pleasure to read and picture in my mind the beautiful Oregon country.

Margaret Garvey is a young lady who has spent her whole life there in the timber country of Oregon. She has lost her mother at a young age, the man she was willing to run away with and marry left without a word to her years ago and now she finds herself alone when her father passes away. She becomes the town's school teacher and finds she can handle things on her own, but her father before he passed away, asked a young man, Andrew, to watch over Margaret and see she was cared for. Daniel sets out to do that and finds out he isn't just doing it as a duty, but because he is learning to really care for this woman. Then Nathaniel, her long lost first love shows back up in town, along with two stray children who end up at Margaret's door to care for. It makes for a very interesting plot, along with a murder and devastating fire. Margaret has many important decisions to make and she needs to learn to rely upon the Lord for answers. But that is harder for her than she realized. What does the future hold for her and who will she end up with in life? I suggest you read this story and find out. I don't think you will be disappointed. ( )

When you are looking for a book if you want adventure, romance, suspense and to go through a whirlwind of emotions and indecision on your reader's opinions of a character... well then this is the book for you!

Through the story of Love Finds You in Bridal Veil, Oregon we are introduced to our protagonist Margaret (great name right? *wink*). Four years ago her father arranged things so that her betrothed though she changed her mind about him and left and she was convinced he left her knowing that she loved him. In these four long years she became angry with God and allowed a wedge to form as she just knew that God had told her he would take care of their relationship. Then along comes a man seemly interested in her, but he arrived simply because her father asked him to and as she starts to become curious, it seems that her betrothed has finally returned for her. Through out the book as I reader I did not know which one to love and which one to hate. I'm all about true love and only one true love. Miralee really had me going one way, then cheering another, then being frustrated at a certain character's behavior and wanting redemption there. I truly applaud the author here, because I had no idea how it would turn out and it could not have been better. (The only thing that I want now is a side line sequel finishing the other guys story... because I think there is potential there.)

Also within the pages of this book we have a different smaller story of strength in a twelve year old girl running from a painful past and protecting the unexpected. Every page had me hoping and praying for Samantha to get where she needed to be and I could not guess what her future should be. In the end, it was very appropriate and the kind of ending I crave and love.

Over all I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and as this was my second historical adventure from the Summerside Press Love Finds You in... series I am sold and cannot wait to get my hands on others. Also this was my first experience reading a story from author Miralee Ferrell and you better believe it will not be my last.

Just like Miralee's first historical novel, her second venture into this genre does not disappoint at all! This book is rich with descriptions, and easily addictive. In fact, I found that after awhile, I simply couldn't put it down!

The agonizing grief that Margaret felt with the loss of her first love, and then, her father, is simply heartbreaking. That'd be enough to make me want to crawl in a hole somewhere and die, honestly. Instead, she perseveres, and moves on with her life, both with her job as a teacher and her budding relationship with Andrew.

While the romance scenes in the book are small in number, they were enough to steal my breath away! I truly had no idea which man Margaret would choose, even after going back in forth in my own mind with who the lucky fellow would be.

Probably the most interesting aspect of the whole book is tucked away at the very end. (Don't worry...this is not a spoiler.) Miralee shares what inspired her to write this book, most of it coming from her own family history. I imagine that makes this book even more special to her on a whole different level. Several things are scattered through the story that are actual historical events...although, I can't let the cat out of the bag on that one, or I really would be spoiling the story!

Yep, definitely another great book for Miralee, and another fantastic addition to the Love Finds You series! I can't wait to read what she comes out with next! :o) ( )
