This would be a good book for 2nd or 3rd graders and it cause them to reflect on their own parents lives. ( ) Genre: Realistic Fiction Review: This story is realistic fiction because it is about a mother telling her daughter stories of before she was her mother; stories of when she was a little girl like herself. It is realistic fiction, therefore, because all mothers were once little girls but it does not use true characters and is not based on true facts. Media: watercolor, pencils The plot of this book is charming. It is about a mother reminiscing over her childhood with her daughter. The story goes through all sorts of things the mother did when she was young. It is an engaging story because it is very relatable. Some of the readers will be able to relate to the mother when she was young, others to the mother when she is older with a child of her own, and still others to the daughter who is listening to all of her mother's stories. I think that the reader keeps reading because they want to find out all the things the mother did and find out how she ends the story. This is an excellent example of a realistic fiction book. It is set in present day and each of the readers can relate to this book in one way or another. It teaches us about the relationship between mother and daughter and about growing up. Art Media: watercolor and pen and ink Appropriate Age: Primary sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
