This is the true story of the author's youngest sister who was left behind as a baby when the family moved to America. They had planned on returning to pick up Sansan but the Civil War and Mao's harsh policies intervened. This is life in Communist China as seen through the eyes of a young girl. If you are interested in modern Chinese history you will enjoy reading this book. Even if you are not, it is a wonderful story even more fascinating because it is true. ( ) This book is actually about the authors youngest sister that was left behind in China when the rest of the family went to America. Sansan is raised by a family member during the cultural revolution. This is her story of life in China during that time. She was luckier than most, but still lived through hunger, work farms, betrayal by friends and other hardships. I good story, a quick read and a happy ending. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
