The little girl is going through the bedtime rituals of trying to get her mother to sleep. She has to bring her away from her computer and adult things, tell her to get her clothes ready for the next day. Change into p.j.s, and brush her teeth. Then the little girl reads her mom a story, and the mother goes to sleep. Then the little girl goes to do the same for her father. If you look on the last page you see the parents checking in on their daughter that is fast asleep. It seems sweet that she is tired out from getting her parents to bed. I think it is an interesting role reversal book. The tables are turned when a little girl prompts her mother to get ready for sleep and tucks her into bed. This is a cute story with the role reversal going through the bedtime routine. The illustrations are lovely, in a style fairly typical for Pham. I could see this being a nice book for parents to share with their children before bedtime. "Bedtime for Mommy" is a cute story about role reversal at bedtime. Instead of mommy putting the child to bed, the child is putting her mommy to bed. Mommy asks to stay up for just five more minutes, takes a bath, picks out tomorrow's outfit, and reads a bedtime story. The little girl finally gets her mommy to sleep, and now its daddy's turn. Similar to David Milgrim's "Santa Duck," Amy Krouse Rosenthal chose to use speech bubble dialogue in this book. Although, in "Bedtime for Mommy," there is no narration, only the characters' dialogue. Rosenthal also made the speech bubbles a certain color for each character, so the reader can easily distinguish who is saying what. This book offers up a great explanation to kids as to how a typical bedtime routine looks from a parents perspective. It contains very little writing on each page and is filled with simple and easy to read sentences. I do wish there were a little more written detail throughout the story. The pages are bright, colorful and filled with descriptive pictures. This book would be a great real aloud for a whole classroom of kindergartners. It would be great for kids to ask plenty of questions and discuss the scenes depicted throughout the book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

In a reversal of the classic bedtime story, a child helps her mommy get ready for bed, enduring pleas for one more book, five more minutes of play time, and a glass of water before the lights go out. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
