I had mixed feelings about the book, Look inside a Pyramid after I finished reading it. I would say that I liked the book because there was real factual information presented to the children in an easy to read format. The book presented just enough information but it was not overwhelming. Also, I liked the book because there was a glossary of terms in the back of it. Therefore, I liked it because it could be presented to younger students who may not have the necessary background knowledge. I like that the book provided additional options for further expanding your knowledge on the topic of pyramids by providing names of other books and internet sites. I did not like the book because all of the pictures that were presented were not actual pictures. I believe that there could have been a little more detail to support many of the facts that were stated.

I enjoyed the informational book because the writing flowed and was paced very well. The text was broken up four categories that were easy to determine being, what is a pyramid, building a pyramid, inside a pyramid, and pyramids today. The organization of the writing allowed for the information to be broken up. Although the illustrations were not completely appropriate for an informational book I would say that they were beneficial for particular sections. For example, in the book the author discusses what is inside of a pyramid and presents a diagram of various tunnels and rooms that could be found inside. The main idea of this book is to inform readers on the fascinating structures of pyramids. ( )
