What do you get when a pessimist and an optimist are friends? Cute idea for a story... foreseeing the future from both view points. We enjoyed how prepared for everything raccoon was before they headed out on their picnic. ( )

I liked how the what-ifs of the story turned out to be potentially wonderful what-ifs. The characters are prepared to encounter these what-ifs and shows the reader that a little bit of worry isn't a bad thing. I think it's good that it teaches readers to not be held back in doing things because of worry. The characters and illustrations were very cute and are sure to entice the reader.

Raccoon is nervous to go on a picnic with Duck, because he can imagine all the things that could go wrong.

This was a cute story about looking at life positively. It felt very realistic. I especially liked how it shows that there can be positive points for being prepared too.

Children who worry or are anxious about new things may enjoy this book. ( )

Raccoon is nervous about all of the things that could spoil a picnic, from bees to dragons, until Duck convinces him that surprises can be fun.
