I got this one because I liked another one the author's books but this one seemed totally silly with people punching each other in this nose (different people, different noses). The couple who falls in love has known each other less than 2 weeks and spent most of that fighting. The characters seem more like caricatures than people you might actually meet. ( ) Cydney Parrish is the quiet daughter of Fletcher Parrish, an award-winning mystery author; Georgette Parrish, local TV star and ex wife of Fletcher, and the sister of Gwen Parrish, an internationally known photo-journalist. Cydney has made a home for Gwen's daughter, Bebe, for the last fifteen years, while her globe-trotting sister took Pulitzer Prize winning photos. Cydney earns a living as a photographer and tries to keep Bebe from developing what, apparently, is the family trait, arrogant self-importance. One horrible afternoon Cydney discover Bebe with Aldo Munroe, who is her new fianceé, judging from the rock on Bebe’s left hand. Aldo is also the nephew of Agnus Monroe, the New York Times bestselling author Cydney has long idolized. Angus Monroe raised his nephew after his beloved brother and sister-in-law died when Aldo was two years old. When Angus discovers that Aldo has engaged himself to the granddaughter of Fletcher Parrish, the writer who snubbed him years ago, he heads for Kansas City to put an end to it. He finds, in addition to a beautiful, if ditzy, bride-to-be, her elfin, intelligent Aunt Cydney, a woman who is not about to let anyone interfere with her niece’s happiness. Angus ends up offering his home in Crooked Possum, MO as the site for the wedding, which has to be done fairly quickly to fit into Gwen Parrish’s schedule. After Cydney, Bebe, Aldo, Georgette and Herb, her fianceé finally find Chéz Munroe, in the wilds of the mountains, it all goes pear shaped, Bebe and Aldo only want to do the wild thing and not take any responsibility for the wedding plans, while reserving the right to veto and trash any plans, especially those made by Cydney. Georgette proceeds to cook like a mad woman, when she’s not running off to civiliazation with Herb. Cydney is trying to convince herself that Bebe is ready for marriage, that Bebe really isn’t an inconsiderate brat who is only acting dumb. She’s also trying to convince herself that she doesn’t like Angus or his house. Angus is disgusted with Aldo and Bebe’s behaviour, he’s about half scared of Georgette and he is in big trouble with Cydney, who he has decided is crazy to put up with her family, even if she does have the most kissable mouth he’s ever seen The mayhem will keep you laughing, best read this in a private place. The pace is fast and the ending satisfactory, though not what I was really expecting. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
She planned everything for the wedding– except the falling in love part. . . . In a family of jet-setters and lovable eccentrics, Cydney Parrish is the stable, sensible one, always with her feet firmly planted on the ground. Maybe that’s why she ended up raising her sister’s daughter Bebe. Now Bebe is all grown up and about to marry the nephew of the handsome and reclusive author Angus Munroe. Between planning the wedding, dealing with her high maintenance kin, and facing a future with only a cat for company, Cydney has her hands full. But she isn’t too busy to notice that aside from being pushy and generally infuriating, Gus Munroe may just be the man of her dreams. Angus Munroe is not about to let his only nephew throw his future away on some ditzy debutante. He flies into town determined to “speak now and never hold his peace”–but ends up instead with a broken nose, a slight limp, and his mountainside home invaded by the bride-to-be’s family. He’s pretty certain it is all the wedding planner’s fault. Aunts aren’t supposed to be sexy, but someone obviously forgot to tell the irresistible Cydney Parrish. . . .
