More a full-fledged commentary than an introduction, this volume first broadly outlines obvious, puzzling questions posed by St Luke's two books and then moves into a detailed exegesis of Scripture. The previous volumes in this series - Old and New Testament alike - are known for unlocking mysteries that have stumped other commentators, and Luke and Acts is no exception. The author provides convincing explanations for the parable in Luke 16 where Jesus praises the "unjust steward," the Lord's call for division rather than peace in Luke 12:51, and the apparently abrupt ending of Acts that may lead one to conclude the original ending has been lost. Countless other features of the biblical text also are discussed, including frequent corrections of misleading English. Other Scriptural Commentaries by Fr Paul Tarazi include: The New Testament Introduction Volume I: Paul and Mark; The Old Testament Introduction Volume I: Historical Traditions; The Old Testament Introduction Volume II: Prophetic Visions; and The Old Testament Introduction Volume III: Psalms and Wisdom.
