From book jacket: The foggy streets of Victorian London are thick with thieves. But when Eddie Hopkins steals George Archer's wallet, he has no idea athat hie is entering a dark world of grave robbers, assassins, and zombies. Because George is no ordinary citizen. He is the newest member of the Dept. of Unclassified Artifacts at the British Museum, a department that investigates the bizarre and the unexplained. And in George's wallet is a clue to one of the biggest mysteries of all time, a secret as old as the dinosaurs, and one that certain people would kill for. Eddie and George join forces with actress Elizabeth Oldfield to escape the clutches of a depraved genius, a man who needs the secret to carry out a terrifying plan. Eddie, George and Elizabeth have only one chance to unravel the secret they possess before London is overrun by creatures from the dead. Good opening for this science fiction mystery set in the past. (Imagine you buried a family member days ago, but he suddenly shows up at your house. Yeah.) I liked the main characters and the tie-in with dinosaurs was a plus. Enjoyed the séance, too. Figuring out the object the villain wanted well before the heroes did merely made me wonder when they'd find out. The dangers our heroes encountered were reasonably scary, although I wondered what England's climate would do in the long run, and couldn't help but think that training teams with screwdrivers and wrenches/spanners might wreck havoc with the villain's grand plan. Nice climax! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
