This is very thorough account of Sherman's campaign in Georgia resulting in the taking of Atlanta. The book is written more eloquently than the usual Civil War history book. ( ) Excellent coverage of Sherman vs Johnston and then Hood in the four major Battles around Atlanta, the burning of the city by both sides, and Atlanta before and after the war. Plenty of good maps which many publishers skimp on; here the maps show the battle sites in relation to modern highways. The author writes very well, and with great research about the personalities and foibles of commanders on both sides. He also defines, once and for all ( I think) Sherman's actual responsibilities for shelling civilians, deporting the citizens of Atlanta, and the destruction of the city as his Army started the March to the Sea. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
