Hiam, of Arabic descent, lives in Adelaide with her husband and daughter. She has embarked on a road trip through the Centre to Darwin, and her physical journey reflects her growing isolation as her mental fragility worsens. This short novel is well written and provides some insights into Middle Eastern culture as community members come to grips with living in a new and to them very strange country. ( )
