This is the story of a log. In a time, long long ago, when raping the world of its resources was a non-issue, the good folks of Schmieg-Hungate and Kotzian (New York City) located an ancient and beautiful living specimen of mahogany in the province of Oriente in the country of Cuba. And they killed it. Cut it open. And used it as veneer on some of the finest furniture of the early 20th century.
