Neurotic was a fast, fun and wacky read about a british journalist who decides to have some affairs because her hypochondriac husband can’t handle sex any more. It was funny, touchy and just down right wacky but i love british humor and enjoyed it. ( )

After just five pages I abandoned this novel. It seemed to me that the author disliked her characters and I could not care about them. ( )

My friend strongly recommended this book to me. What she didn't mention is that it also contains quite a few explicit sex scenes that made me feel rather uncomfortable on the subway. I hope noone read over my shoulder ;-) Not only were those scenes quite frequent (one per chapter) they also were a bit repetitive. What kept bugging me was that although the scenes were described in a very detailed way, there was no mention of condoms. The book isn't that old, and I found myself strongly disapproving of the affairs, simpy because she didn't bother to use condoms in spite of the fact that she slept with men who advertised for affairs, just like her.

My friend was right though: it's a very funny book.

Was given good reviews, but I think it was mainly for the explicit driven sex scenes. Story line wasnt a surprise. Ending predictable.
