She uses the sketching technique to capture a different look on the story. The pictures show the detailed African culture. The use of sketching in black and white allows the read to paint the rest of the picture using their imagination. After reading and looking at each page layout, I closed my eyes and pictured the illustrations and added colors that showed what I felt while reading. Picture Book. The story takes place in Africa. There are many representations of tribal Africa and its peoples. Images of huts, the marketplace, camels and palm trees are prevalent. There is one spread where men are playing the drums and women are dancing and clapping their hands. The use of this book would be good in the classroom to teach multicultural aspects as well as imagination. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

I found the book very interesting for children it is a fantasy about meeting ancient family members and ancient homelands. For me as a psychologist it is an interesting idea of genetic memory. Do children have memories of their families lives. ( )
