One of the main problems I had with the book was the heroine. I dont have a trouble with the heroine being innocent. But I do have a problem with them not having any personality. The way the heroine acted and was described by others made me think of a doll or a child. She is sooo pretty and her eyes are guileless. In short shes perfect, set apart from the rest of humanity. And also one of the dullest heroines in Romancelandia. To me this was unrealistic and a sign of lazy writing. Skimmed the rest. Appreciated This book is celebrated in that tone and characterization work together to make this a wonderful romance. All those apart of this narrative teach the reader something about the merits and vices of humanity. It is epic that reminds me of Beowulf and that is a pretty wonderful accomplishment. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
On the eve of her wedding to the heir of Saiturn Manor, the stunningly beautiful Gytha is shocked to learn that her betrothed, a man she barely knew, is dead. Now she must marry the new heir, Thayer Saiturn, a battle-hardened knight known as the Red Devil... With a face scarred in battle and a heart broken in love, Thayer has no interest in marriage. But not even the Red Devil can break the promise his foster-father made years ago and soon finds himself married to a woman whose exquisite beauty and sweet innocence intrigue him. But can his new bride look beyond his scars to find a hidden passion and undying love locked deep inside him? Contains mature themes. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Glytha is the beauty and Thayer is the beast (he has red hair?). He marries her because of a promise made but doesn't trust her because he knows she's going to cheat on him. This is because a woman cheated on him in his youth. She wants to be a good wife, but honestly, he's the worst. Meanwhile, there's all this drama that just seemed stupid and made the book way too long. It's an earlier Howell book and I read the reissue, but it could use a rewrite. ( )
