The Wilt Lectures at Harvard University in 1988 regarding lessons learned from the disabled adults with whom the author lived in community. Community is a place of struggle and conflict. It is where the ego dies, a place of surrender, and it is also a place of celebration, joy, and ultimately of human fulfillment. These two sermons/lectures delivered by Jean Vanier to Harvard Divinity students left me with chills as I was reading them. Varnier demonstrated the depth of his faith in putting Christ's teachings into action through L'Arche. I could identify with his learning from those with "abilities" different from himself and not viewing them as "disabilities." One day, we may be like some of those men who live at L'Arche, and may need understanding and the humility that comes from the foot washing ceremony. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
