( ) Charming writing plus recipes, what's not to like? Quite a comfort read. I enjoyed the first half especially. The parts about her dad's death got to me, unsurprisingly. In the second half I found the wedding topic got tiresome. To devote so much time to wedding matters seemed like an editor's packaging decision (we have to unify this thing somehow!) that was unnecessary. It came off as shallow, to this older person anyhow. By the time I finished the book I was also considering how very privileged this individual's life journey is. But I'm glad I read it and I do have four or five recipes bookmarked. I enjoyed this book far more than I expected to. I came to it unaware of her ( now former) food blog or her follow up book Delancey. It was a quick read, loosely a memoir about her from teen years to marriage age. Each small chapter has a recipe affiliated with a memory of the story just told , a recipe her aunt made each thanksgiving, a french recipe her house mother in Paris cooked for her, etc. You will finish the book with an armful of recipes to try as well as a book very much enjoyed. I plan on reading Delancey as a follow up. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
