( ) Unlike, say, 90% of the other books in this genre, the main couple in this book is an established one. That fact alone endears it to me - every now and then, it's fun to read about two people who act like, well, an old married couple. The male lead belongs to a type of vampires who are created to make sure other, regular vampires obey the so-called Laws of the Blood - the rules that are supposed to ensure humans don't find out vampires are actually real. Being relatively young means he has to rely mostly on his wits and diplomatic skills, rather than sheer power and intimidation. He's managing well enough (with the occasional bit of advise from his partner Sirin) until one of the oldest living vampires decides that what the world really needs is a movie about vampires. Real ones. This book is the first in a series, but stands on its own well enough, without any really loose ends. I like Susan Sizemore, several of her books are keepers for me, but I just couldn't get into this one. I realize I've taken out of the library twice now and neither time did I get past page 20, there's just something in this format which doesn't engage me. So it's a non reader for me. I won't take it out again. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
