In this gift-size book, Cameron shares beautiful prayers of empowerment followed by potent declarations on the nature of creativity that extend beyond affirmations to facilitate a powerful awakening of the artistic child within and revitalize fading dreams, while lending encouragement and compelling reminders that we can all tap into the creative spirit. Heart Steps is certain to ignite the creative spark, drawing readers inward toward the fire of their own creativity. Whether read in one sitting or savored over time, Heart Steps is a book no creative being will want to be without. Index.… (más)

Over 10 years ago I read "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron and felt encouraged by that book. Its writing exercises and suggestions helped me at a time when I felt drained of inspiration, creativity and energy. I started collecting Cameron's other books, intending to reread "The Artist's Way" and actively complete all the assignments. Of course, life got in the way and I never got around to reading her other books. This little book is one of two books that are basically affirmations/prayers for people who want to encourage their own creativity. I've read from this book off and on through the years, but despite their very short length, never really finished them--they are not really books to "finish", they are simply wishes in the form of prayers (which are really the same thing). Each affirmation starts with a quote from someone, for example: "Undoubtedly, we become what we envisage." by Claude M. Bristol, followed by an affirmation - in this case: My Soul is Rich Beyond my Knowing, then a few sentences or paragraphs elaborating on the affirmation.

Unlike "The Artist's Way", these little books did not inspire me to create and really are just taking up room on my overloaded shelves. I'm sure someone will find these books useful, but I'll stick with more practical and active guides. ( )
