In the book he encourages writers to listen to and pay attention to the language in their environment, and to think about the way this language evokes responses.
Some of the examples he provides, of overheard teenage conversations and dodgy tv reporting are laugh-out-loud funny.
The end of the book also provides scenarios to get people writing. I think this would be a lovely book to give a teenager who would like to write. ( )
