Jim Shaughnessy is a revered name among railroad photographers. This collection, the best of his work over a forty-year career, features 170 duotone photographs taken between 1946 and 1988, with an emphasis on the railroad culture of the fifties and sixties. Un livre sur le photographe qui m'a le plus inspiré. Depuis des années, je suis capable de reconnaître sa touche personnelle et "plonger" littéralement dans la photo. Voyageur infatigable à la recherche des dernières locomotives à vapeur sur le continent, il a abondamment visité les Cantons de l'Est au Québec pour prendre en actions les dernières locomotives du Canadien National et du Canadien Pacific. La majorité des photos sont bien rendues mais certaines sont floues ou encore trop travaillées électroniquement ( )
