I am still not sure, but I think might have read this before, years ago. It's a brutal depiction of the poverty, hopelessness, and violence of the lives of two gang-affiliated young women in East L.A. It was sad and horrible and I couldn't put it down. ( )

This book call Locas a novel by Marray, Yxta Mayais a great book that explains the life of a gang.

Locas is the story of two teenage girls, Lucia and Cecilia, the girlfriend and sister of a rising young gangster. Living in Echo Park, a tough Los Angeles neighboorhood. through out the story both Lucia and Cecilia describe the life and Manny`s life as he spreads out his gun and drug bussines. Cecilia tiered of being a powerfull lobo member`s girlfriend forms her own gang with all the lobos member`s girlfriends fight to be known for getting easy money on their own. Cecilia on the other hand has bigger responsabilities, motherhood is what takes her time. This book is called Locas by Murray Yxta Maya and its a fiction book.

This is about how this two girls named Cecilia and Lucia trying to be like the guys being in gangs and acting tough.
First they were like no other girl, they wore dresses and dressing girly,Lucia was Manny's girlfriend.Manny is Cecilia's brother.Lucia got with Manny because she wanted everybody to respect her because Manny was in a gang named Lobos.
Lucia helped Manny with things that Manny could not handle,Lucia help him with counting money.
Cecilia always though she was not good for any guys but she got with a guy name Beto beto was in the Lobos too,Lucia was expecting a baby from Beto but Beto always got drunk and hit Cecilia one day Beto beat her up and went to her moms house then her mom called Manny then when Manny got the news he went and beat up Beto for what he did to her sister Cecilia.

Lucia started her own little gang only girls then they started selling drugs and acting tough and soon they became powerfull more than Manny's gang.

I recommend this book because this book is about how girls would be able to do whatever they want just to be tougher than a guy and be able to boss anybody. ( )
